I also believe that Itachi will die, but I still somehow hope he doesn't. I also don't think he is insane. He knows exactly what he is doing. The storyline can't be that simple anyway. Insane brother kills family, little brother takes revenge, the end. What the heck will Sasuke do after Itachi dies? My believe is that in the next chapter Itachi before dieing will show what really happened that day that the Uchiha clan where killed. Something that will make Sasuke angry and want to destroy Madara.

You saw how Itachi was when he revealed he planned to take Sasuke's eyes! There is no doubt he is insane, he's had years to let his sanity ferment. And Sasuke has had years to let his hatred ferment. Hands down, unless Sasuke also collapses or a still somewhat fresh Kisame shows up or Zetsu intervenes, Itachi will die. And even if those 2 scenarios DO happen, there's still the risk that whatever strain Susano'o put on him, WILL kill him if Sasuke doesn't.

Yes I agree with you, but as Itachi is my fav Naruto character, I somehow wish that he lives on and join forces with Sasuke against Madara. I do know that this is very improbable but... It would really suck if Itachi really dies.

Hadn't thought of that... It makes sense though. I guess thats how he ended up the one half dead... Well i'm still hoping that he can somewhat live, but I think you are right about Susano and it's the end for Itachi.
