for those who think that the movie is based on transformers animes u are wrong: cuz transformers is actually is 80's cartoon and the animes that appeared later are based on this cartoon too. also, there was spin-off 3-D cartoon where our robots instead of vehicles are... animals! (that cartoon was called 'beast wars'). i am a big transformers fan since i was a kid. anyways, the movie rocks!!
