If the anime is already a huge failure (with the fillers issue), and the manga is the only TRUE aspect of the franchise, a live action performance is just downright horrific. HO-RRIF-IC. How is Naruto gonna do a frickin' Rasengan? Sasuke and Chidori? GAARA?! Are we gonna attach sand to his body? Really?
Unless it's a musical...like what they did with Galaxy Angels. Now that's even worse.

NONONONONONONONONONO and NO. Whoever came up with this needs to be slapped in the face, SHINOPAWNCHED, stabbed, ripped apart by the Nine-Tailed Fox, slapped again, stabbbed again several times, buried, dug up, stabbed again, and then be blown up.
Although not a "Naruto", I say it's a fun idea for Manga and Anime to be adapted into live theaters performances. Doesn't bother me what country is doing it or who's playing who, so as long the show looks awesome enough to get me interseted in seeing it. In fact, I'll love to see video recordings of live performances based on Anime that I favorite.
P.S. Anime fans who disapprove of live-action versions of Anime need to realize that the directors are just working with what will work best for the show while using their creative ways, so it's nobody's fault. Plus, Anime authors give permission to Hollywood filmmakers and play directors to work on the projects. It appears that those wanting the worse for live-action performances based on Anime are like censors trying to destroy the creative freedoms of film/play directors, or at least parts of it.

That is the stupidest idea I ever heard. Japan should learn that there are somethings that shouldn't be live action.
So live theater. I take that to mean on stage, performed by actors in front of the audience?
Japan's been doing this for years if that's the case. Bleach and One Piece have already done it. In fact I'm surprised to hear that this is the first one for a series as *gag* popular as Naruto.
Oh, and just so everyone knows, Japan is just as capable of screwing this up as America would be. The sun may rise in the East, but it doesn't shine from there.
The Bleach and Prince of Tennis musicals were awesome. I'm a little bit skeptical about a Naruto one though. As popular as it is I'm sure they'd make it good (in Japan only!). Oh well, we'll just have to see...
You know, just the other day---after crying slitting my wrists over the DBZ live action movie, I comically thought, "What if they made a Naruto Live action movie? Che, like that will ever happen..." -_-
It could work, but it could also go horribly wrong. But since this is being made in Japan, I have a lot more hope than I usually would.
its in JAPAN, so it should be awesome. death note, love com, and phoenix wright all were pretty good i thought.

Ahh, I see. It's a theatrical production. That's fine, Bleach did a wonderful one, I really enjoyed it. I guess it's about time for a Naruto one.
As long as it stays in Japan.
