Never seen the anime, which might be good. I'm going to watch this movie when it comes out on TV, just to see from an outsiders view on these LA films. Might be a new learning experience for me.

I'm not too keen on liking Hollywood's adaption on anything... I'm hoping Japan is able to get the copyright on a LA form of Naruto. They did a decent job with Death Note... I won't even pretend I don't care if America gets to Naruto. I'll be done with Hollywood forever.

I don't know about other anime roles, but I don't think I'd wanna see Zac as Sousuke (or whatever name they come up with instead). Sousuke is somewhat a serious, warfare-proficient yet socially ignorant guy. And Zac, as of the moment anyway, is your regular boy-next-door. Then again, we might be surprised later on. But still...

However, I'd prefer to see Zac as Sousuke rather than Zac as Light (which is circling around the Net for quite some time). Because Death Note is simply an entirely different story.

Now, now everyone... save all of that rage for if Efron gets the role.

This is just another reason why Hollywood has been getting lazy as of late. They'll soon start making live-action adaptations of every animated/comic/video game known out there which is fine just as long as a series is in the right hands and the director casts the right actors, then it's all good. Wish these people did their research before making these films, though...

A movie that he made, what three years ago? Where he got picked outta a Disney line up and wasn't even allowed to sing in because his voice was too deep? Watch Hairspray, the guy is hilarious in it. Actor mature over the years, look at Dakota Fanning. Going from playing little stuck up kids to a rape victim. Yet again, I'm not gonna judge him till his latest movie comes out.

I'm not judging him by High School Musical. I'm judging him by his performance in High School Musical, which, just like everyone else in the movie, was mediocre at the very best. Disney Channel is sticking their child actors into everything they can get at, and it's kind of frustrating when said actors are not that good.

Should be fun for those who enjoy seeing giant robots in live-action Sci-Fi! "Transformers" (2007) is a good example.

Although not an "FMP" fan, I may consider seeing this film when it comes out.

I judge actors by each individual role, not by past performances or projects they were involved in. That aside, it hasn't been decided who will be cast. I love FMP, and regardless of who's in it, I'll go.

I can see this movie working in America... As for Efron -shrug- I don't care. I'll base my opinion off the new movie he's coming out with. I don't really know him as an actor.

I'm gonna agree with SG on this one. I LOVE this series, and think it could be adapted beautifully into live action. I know a guy from my school that was basically a real live Sousuke Sagara. He's even in the ROTC now, and half-Chinese. I pick him. And not just cause I went to senior prom with him.

I refuse to get upset until someone says Efron did get the role. Otherwise it's gonna be the same deal as when everyone was angry that what's-his-face wanted to be Zuko (and you can't always get what you want).

Funny thing is, FMP is probably more easy to translate to live-action than others. Mostly just high school drama.

But with mechas.
