WTF. People can be so stupid!!! I can't believe he'd blame Battle Angel. :/ That was one of the first anime I saw, and yeah, there's lots of violence...but uh...there isn't a theme like that in it. He can't go blaming a manga for his actions, it's the same as crazy untrusting parents that blame violent video games for teen aggression etc. ~__~ I'm glad Taiwan researched...silly, silly man.
Nah, he's killing other people who (I can confidently assume) are much smarter than him. This leaves their bloodlines dead and him with the ability to reproduce. That goes against the entire concept.
Considering that killing someone and getting caught only brings one more misery (judging by all the CSI I watch), this guy's logic was right out from the start. And what a sad fantasy life he must've been leading to try and blame his crimes on any manga or anime at all.
Darwin award potential? ...nah. He'd (the killer) would probably need to have refered to himself as one of the characters of that series to even be considered for the award. -_-
I feel bad for the landlord and his family for having to put up with that garbage... I pray that all goes well for the family left behind in the end.

Well first off why would he even attempt doing that in the first place was he behind in payments and the landlord a mean guy??? Many things here do not add up plus having him blame a manga, ok that is just stupid because it is fiction. So evertime I do something wrong I can just say oh I watch Bleach and it is Tite Kubo's falt? Ahh give me a break! Glad Taiwan did their homework :D

I've read Battle Angel Alita; it has no story that states what the guy said. This guy should be classified under retarted due to blaming one of the best cyberpunk manga for doing something stupid. Even Barjack did not kill people to get rid of their debt...
Like SomeGuy said, kudos to Taiwan to doing research and NOT just blame the manga. But one would also have to think about the man's situation; if he was jobless and couldn't pay his rent, what makes you think he was in the right state of mind anyways to make this statements? Don't you think he would have wanted to pass the blame onto anything other than himself? I dunno, just a thought.
