That seems to be a normal thing with Japan. They make comics out of famous people.
If Kamui Kobayashi the F1 Driver won the World Championship, there would be an anime about him.
If the Rugby team won the World Cup they'd also get an anime.
If any of their other sports stars dominated the world they would get an anime.
