How I love Cupcakes

I will sadly admit that I cry a bit on Pokemon the First movie. Then again cried for Kiki's Delivery Service, Im out of topic.

I also didnt vote for Lelouch or Naruto. I was quite shocked with the results.

First time hearing and I will start hearing from now on.

I'm somewhat dissappointed with the "battle Royale" results. Naruto is, in my opinion, far more resourceful and awsome then his opponent, but ah well, there's still Edward...

Not saying all characters were nominated out of fan boy/girl love, just that's how some ended up on the list. (Sebas-chan for example.)

Yeah, that would be nice, instead of the "1337 H4zors" trolling the "n00bs." Seriously, most people who are computer literate (and some who only think they are, but really aren't) have really big egos, it's annoying.

Pokémon was my childhood. i can understand anyone who would cry!
i agree with your Sailor Moon thoughts though. now it makes me wish i voted for her

In the very first vote, I nominated a female character. Not because as a fanboy I 'desire' her or anything, but because I think she's a good character. Of course, being from a much less popular anime, it was pointless, but I did it anyway. :V

Only 1 female made the list and I started to wonder, why?

Is it because female anime characters are always weak and boring, or too cutesy to merit respect? Absolutely not - for example, Faye Valentine or Saya from Blood+. They're both fascinating and bad ass.

Is it because only boys voted and boys only like shonen? Nope - plenty of female otaku have commented, and lots of male otaku gave props to the supremely awesome Sailor Moon.

So why? The only plausible conclusion is the dreaded fan girl. Instead of voting for characters they admire, they voted for characters they desire.

As an empowered female and anime lover, I have to ask - where's the girl-power!?

Indeed, I have to concede your point. Another reason I didn't vote for L, and probably a better reason, is how relatively new Death Note still is. And up against a character that's been around, like Kenshin, its not a contest.
