this is actually good news for some of us. the show is addicting, and watching reruns is fun, but you can only watch the same episodes so many times xD
i was skeptical when i first heard my friends mention this news, but thinking back to how much effort they put into the show to make it what it is, this new season will be just as worth it ^_^ or at least i hope. usually the second time screws up, but there are some great number two sequels out there
i hope they dont make a third series though. im tired of everything ending in trilogies all the time...

Not necessarily. While clearly Aang is dead by that point, others could still be alive besides Toph. It seems to be a trend that most benders live longer than non-benders, so it's not too out there to think that Katara, Zuko, and others outlived Aang as well. Gyatso outlived Roku and Bumi was over 100 years old.
I'm excited for this. I read an articale earlier saying that it's going to mainly take place in a city. I also hope Old Sokka and Toph are in it for an episode, cuz, damn, that'd be funny!
I never really watched the series in order, but when I did watch it, I found it to be an awesome show! (Maybe I'll watch it in order sometime...Then watch the second season!)
I'm going to stay optimistic with this, because the guys came up with such an awesome series the last time. I'm just praying the second season will be just as good.

I thought the same as Zeit. Aang did not live very long :0
But I dunno, Avatar pulled off things that I never dreamed could go over. So I'll see how Korra's little trek goes.
And I'll wait for old man Sokka and old lady Toph. Because they are BOUND to be epic if they're still kicking.

I'm gonna call it now: new series is gonna rip on the movie in some way, playfully or not.
I do enjoy my Avatar. And while true I always start off optimistic about anything, well . . . that's just how these things have to start, dagnabbit.
