Take that 4Kids! I hope they pay for ruining One Piece!

This is a surprise, but maybe the anime on it will actually be dubbed properly now, -shrugs- Either way, this'll be interesting.

You know guys, I never thought that I of all people (rabid One Piece fanboy and all) would be coming to the defense of 4Kids Entertainment of all companies, but I really think we've got some overreactions going on here.

Here's the deal, 4Kids hardly dubs any anime anymore. I think they're working on Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's right now (CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLES!) and that's about it. They're more invested in their original content, and a lot of that is actually legitimately good stuff. Did anyone see the big Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover movie? It was amazing.

And as for the current dubbing situation, they're fully aware how bad they used to be and recently they've practically been abridging their own series, which is hilariously awesome. Here, here's a few choice clips from the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX dub.

So bottom like, please ease up on all the DIE AL KAHN DIE, guys. 4Kids is a company. Their goal is to make money, just like FUNimation, BANG ZOOM!, Bandai or even Circuit City. They just made some bad moves in trying to get at the money. They've clearly suffered enough for this, since they've managed to lose enough to either need to be bought out or force closure.

I really hope this new deal will do the following:

• Re-dub all the epic failures (Oh, how I wish pokemon could be redone!)

  Destroy 4kids as it is and actually do GREAT dubbing that rivals FUNimation and the good part of VIZ.

  Take over the building and turn it into an otaku store.

I just hope this deal makes it easier for us to bear with 4kids. e.e I'm sick of the anime they're destroying. They're the reason people hate english dubbers. (It's sad for me since I want to be one. ;_; )

Who knows? This may be similar to the time when the WWE (then the WWF) bought WCW and ECW.

This would explain why the buyer apparently wishes to remain anonymous for the time being.

Announcement in the coming days: "4Kids regrets to inform our fans that the buyers actually thought they were purchasing four kids. Our bad."

I agree. I hope someone intelligent gets the company. Hopefully they can reverse the abominations they've made out of some of the anime.

Who in the right mind would buy 4Kids? Unless they hated it so much they only bought it to either a) Make it better or b) abolish it.

I'm telling you, my acquiring of all the assets and ownership of Wal-Mart couldn't have come at a better time. This was the best purchase I ever barely managed to obtain the money to make.
