The DSi is actually a pretty nice piece of hardware for what it is. I can vouch for it because I had to replace my Lite after the top screen started getting funky and decided I might as well upgrade. The DSi store actually has some pretty good stuff in it, and it's nice to have an MP3 player since my old iPod broke and I haven't had the money to replace it. I do miss the GBA slot, but hey, that's why I still have my SP. The only real criticism I have is the battery life, honestly. And even then it lasts most of a day playing nonstop.
In any case, the DSi's download center is giving Shantae another lease on life, and that's nothing but good news.
As for this, I'm definitely looking forward to it. If they manage to pull off 3D graphics like they say, I just hope they somehow bring Paper Mario to this system. Imagine Paper Mario actually looking like a real pop-up book. It would be amazing.

I don't care if it looks like Mr. Pink, if Nintendo's pushing it, you know it's gonna do well. That being said, I shall promptly, when the new system is released, be waiting in line for the new electronic drug like the game junkie I am.
This is, according to Nintendo, a completely new handheld, which is separate from the DS line. However, it will have complete backward compatibility with DS and DSi games.

I'm a bit worried. I mean the transition from the DS to the DSLite wasn't too bad. Now the DSi to me seemed needless. And now this.
Now this could go two foreseeable ways. This could be the transition for the DS line of handhelds like how the GameBoy Advanced was the transition for the GameBoy Color in how it totally changed the handheld console. This could also go the route of the Sega Genesis. For y'all too young to remember or don't care, the Genesis had add-on over add-on until it got to the point that every advance it made was unbelievably stupid. Personally, I'm hoping that it's more of a transition phase. For now, I just hope Golden Sun for the DS won't be made for this new handheld.
Someone beat me to it. XD Oh well, as long as the news gets out to everyone. What I'm really interested in is hearing what people think actually. I've been asking everywhere I could to hear opinions. Personally, I think it sounds cool, as long as it stays within the price range they've been releasing these new DS systems at I'll pick it up sometime.
