a friend of mine once said that he found out the cause of death are two wired getting too close to each other or something like that. he took it apart to find that out, then used duct tape to seperate them. after that, his xbox worked again. still glitched now and then, but worked.
not sure about how much this is true since he's a jokester, but i think this is worth a try if the situation comes up. hasnt happened to me yet, but im definatley giving it a shot if it ever happens just in case he's right
The Red Ring of Death is a well known heating error that many of the first Xbox 360 consoles experienced. They would overheat, causing the entire console to shutdown, and the power button would turn from green to red. Hence the "Red Ring". After a very large number of consoles experienced this (I've heard statistics saying even as many as 50% of 360s in the first year or two experienced RRoD), Microsoft began manufacturing 360s with better overheating-fighting capabilities (more effective heat sinks and dispersers).
I can't believe that this happens to something as exensive as an Xbox! It has never happened to my friends yet, but I have heard of this problem. The coffin is a funny idea, but hey if you love your Xbox that much, than maybe it deserves a coffin. RIP to all Xboxes that died from the red ring.
