This entire article simply begs the question: over which street has this word been heard on? Certainly not Montrose, Westheimer, Richmond, or any other respectable street. One can only imagine how a conversation on the gritty streets of Houston would take place when throwing out this piece of information:
THUG #1: Yo, dawg, I can't WAIT 'till my boy James Cameron makes Avatar 2! Spit is MAD fly, yo! My girl keeps on askin' me to take her to see Ava1, an' I'm all like, "Must be trippin', snitch!"
THUG #2: Bounce wit' all that, foo'! Ain't you heard, baby? James Cameron figgin' make an Alita flick after he cranks out Ava2! I was all like, "WHAT?! HA-WHAT!? YAY-YAH!"
THUG #1: OH, SNAP, DAWG! Hecks, yeah! Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more!
THUG #2: "Daddy's little..."? That's not urban, man. That's grunge. Man, you've... you've lost face with me, guy.
But it took Cameron like 10 years to do the first 'Avatar'; is this just his way of saying that it'll never get done? Maybe he'll pass it on to someone else on his deathbed or something; I can see it now.
Cameron (in his last mortal breaths): Kevin Smith, my young apprentice, come closer.
Smith (humbly): Yes, master; what is your wish.
Cameron (stretching forth one hand weakly): A-al . . . ita . . . (dies)
I always thought Battle Angel would make a great movie, but at the same time...I'm not sure if it will be that successful. And what, it'll probably take another 10 years+ to make. :/
Wait, Avatar 2? Really? O, brother. Why must hollywood kill every good movie by stretching it far beyond what it was ever meant to go?
Also, just because you get a big-name director, does not mean it will be a hit. Look at who did LOTR. Those were awesome, but I haven't seen a single other movie he did that wasn't tottally overdone and ulitimately lame.
I think these people need a good infusion of common sense.
I thought he gave up on it! TEN YEARS ago I heard rumors that he wanted to do something with Alita... and FINALLY maybe it can come to fruition!!! <3<3
