    I just don't get why linearity is supposed to be a bad thing these days. I can understand the complaint if there's just not much to do outside the main quest, but not everything has to be a sandbox. Enjoy the game for what it is. If you want to play [Game A], then play [Game A]. You don't see me complaining when Super Mario Bros. isn't Chrono Trigger.

    Nonlinearity in itself ain't that great anyway. I've been playing Dragon Quest IV on DS. Great game, but the original was on NES. You want nonlinearity? Try wandering the entire world trying to figure out where the heck the plot went after spending two hours grinding in order to take on a boss you may or may not have been required to beat anyway. I've been spending a lot of time on GameFAQs for this one.

    Still a fun game, though.

    @darknessslayer:

    What they mean by linear is that it's very straightforward in terms of story and gameplay. Basically, A goes to B which causes C that ends with D. Some use the word to claim it as predictable while use it as a way of saying the game is easy. There is no branching out in which B might make either a C1 or C2 or even the need for a C at all if you will.

    Personally I think it's nonsense. Enjoy the game for what it is.

    When has a Final Fantasy game ever been linear? Except for X-2 which happens after X, it just a new game, with new heroes, and just a little of the previous game content carried over. Oh well, it still going to be an awesome game.
