Which seems rather odd to me, but then I'm female and my Dad is rather relieved that his lowered libido allows him to think straight for several minutes at a time.
I read the report on this that's on animenewsnetwork.com and it made me mad because they didn't so much say that the pair were going to any con, but that Reimer was taking the girl to Forks, WA where 'Twilight' is based. But they made it sound more like he'd lured her using anime. Either way, the girl is just as much an idiot as the guy; how much of an idot does a girl have to be to go off on a cross-country trip with a guy not related her but old enough to be her father? Stupid girl; both of them are making us good anime fans look bad.
An attempt to regain their youth since old men are very sensitive about their manliness and vigor as they reach their mid-life crisis and their glory days are behind them?

This is why young teens should be accompanied by adults when going to something even as innocent as an anime convention. What is it with men lusting after young girls? I remember my BFF and her brother went to an anime con with a female classmate that was cosplaying as a cute nurse. Some old guy kept watching her and the brother had to constantly stick close by the poor girl.
