Why do I have a feeling that this will just make the world 10X more obbsessed with Twilight?
Oh that's right... Because some Twitards push there fandom way past fandom to the Obsessed stage
I am a pseudo-fan of the series. Used to be obsessed with it until Bella's Mary-Sueness nearly put me in that oh-so-comfortable-hug-yourself jacket. I'm NO FAN OF BARBIE, but I'm kinda intrigued by the thought of a sparkly doll just 'cause I have a short atten-
I love Twilight, but not Barbie. What's are Twilight fan to do? But the freakin' dolls or show my disgust for what Barbie does? I really hate Barbie. Oh, Stephenie, please don't sell your series to Disney.

If I ever got an Edward barbie as a present.....I'd probably throw it down the garbage disposal. First I'd see if they made it sparkle (if they did then I'd scream), then make the sink eat it. :D
If I get Bella, I'm snapping all the appendages off and melting them. :]
If there's a Jacob, I'd probably not care. I love Jacob, but I don't love the fact that it's a doll. :/
Sorry for those Twilight fans that I've horrified by my post.....but I truly despise the movies. The books were kinda good until Robert Pattinson wearing lipstick and glitter powder walked into the Twilight world. >:/

Oh GAWD! *dies in a hole* First it's the most looked up thing on a search engine and now it is coming out. I hope to God that my little cousin doesn't ask for one.
That and theOtaku caters to more than just anime fans. :p I've personally read all four books and seen the first movie. I have a very, VERY low opinion of it.
But when it comes to news or other aspects of theOtaku, I don't let my own personal basis regardless of the anime, movie, music, etc... get in the way of doing my job around here.
Because, believe it or not, there's a fandom for it and it's pretty darn huge (thus, claiming that "only a small percentage" of Otakuites actually care is kind of a harsh generalization to make without any actual evidence to back it up.) Trust me, if this site could exclude series based on whether or not the users liked it, I would have had the place purged of Naruto over a year ago.
And the argument that it's not anime or manga isn't exactly a valid one, either. Neither are Pixar, Marvel or most of the video games covered here. There's room for all kinds 'round these parts, and I'd rather not be forced to drag my Treasure Planet fanboying over to the Miley Cyrus-infested Disney forums if it's all the same to you. :p
Also it gives us non-fans something to lol and snark at, which is always a bonus

Why do we even have Twilight news? It's not anime (yet) as far as I know, even if rumors have circulated about it. And a very small percent (if even that) of people on this site even care about it. All it does is rot all that is good in the world.
Hooray! Now all the little girls of the world can be taught to be shallow and devoid of personality, existing only to be the doormat of some passive-aggressive stalker who cripples their social lives and forces them into domestic servitude in the name of love!
And just in time for the holidays, no less! Peace on Earth and all that jazz.
