I'm trying to create a story where the main character gets killed in the first chapter(As you can tell, I'm not very nice) and ends up in some world or another because of a contract she made with some person or another. But my character is a wimp and she needs to be tougher in later chapters but I'm not sure how to make this happen over the other chapters. Any tips?
