Shantae is a series of metriodvania games made by wayforward technologies. The first one came out on gba color near the end of it and the series stars shantae a half genie who protects the town of scuttle town and along with it sequin land. The setting is like if you put anime characters into alladin and took the quirkiness and funess of it all up to eleven. The sequel came out on dsiware but you can get it on 3ds and the new one coming out soon is also on 3ds eshop as well. The sequel is named shantae:risky's revenge and the third game is known as shantae:the pirate's curse. The third game is coming out this summer. A 4game in hd is comming soon and is going to be on the 8 gen consoles xbox 360, ps3, and steam soon. This was funded by kickstarter and can continue to be funded via paypal.
