Hello, there.

I like the pose that faerie is striking though I think there is something could have improved I say.

1. If you're going to colour something and scan it or take a picture of it. Make sure it looks alright on the computer before loading it up. I find the method you used to colour the faerie is a bit rough. What medium did you use to colour? It seems to me that is was a quick colouring.
2. Colouring scheme is quite quite important. Why? It'll make a picture itself stand out or fall. I would say, work out a colour scheme and then do it. The Primary colour chart helps. (^ ^
3. For something like a faerie, you can use any medium you like to colour and make life-like. I think watercolours are one of the best medium to use. Why? The technique of them uses light to dark. Though it takes time to dry it's worth the look.
4. If you don't like watercolurs use colour pencils and filt pens. It'll make a drawing look sharper.

I like the way you posed the faerie and maybe if it was in pencil I say, it would of be much nicer to look. I think the rough colouring makes it look rather bad. Or sand paper.

Well, there's some advice or somethings I picked up.
I hope they'll help.
