You know, I don't have the right software either... but you'd be suprised what paint can do. If you're forgetting, think back to the anime I put in the 1st issue of Hidden Agendas. That was all done on paint. Anyway, I totally agree... colored pencil backgrounds can sometimes totally ruin my pictures. Also, I am super lazy and usually don't even finish my pictures beyond the sketch stage. So again, I praise your artwork for even being colored in the first place. ~Shroud

Umm... I don't do backgrounds on most of my art because A) it hurts my hand too much, especially w/ my broken thumb B) It takes to much time and colored pencil to do and usually ends up lookin' crappy C) I can't do it on the computer because I don't have the right software and can't afford to buy it (sometimes paint just don't cut it).
