all of the other animals are so different on his planet, but the bird is the only one they have that is similar on his planet, so he is amazed by them. And maybe he could have a pet bird.

Just saying but wouldn't it be cool if he had a pet earth bird. And why is he fascinated by them if there are already birds on his planet?
