You should look at different artists for how they do fur and study them. Sadly I don't know any artists who do just animals or fur textures, but I'm pretty sure you can find some? :)

this is a very lovely portrait and seriously this is really realistic >.< i think it is her eyes that made me drawn into the picture. the fur isn't that realistic, but it still works :)

You're welcome, but I don't think that it is because of the pencils, I think it is because of your own skills to handle them.. :)
As sword has no power in a hand of a warrior without courage, so does pencil have no proper lines in the hands of the one without the will for it. You are quite the opposite.^^

I love how you caught the light in her eye ^^ I am sure her owners will love this!
