I have had that problem many a time. I remember drawing Soujiro Seta in my art class one time, and everyone thought he was a girl. Granted he kinda looks feminine to begin with. I think that may be partly due to Kafei's character design. Like I said before, I'm sure it looks great. I have no doubt in my mind that you will do an awesome job. :D
Been practicing Kafei for you and to my serprise it's a very femenine char.If you look at the eyes you will know what I mean , you kinda need the long eyebrows to make him look more masculine.

Jackdaws are pretty, apparently when I was little I was a big fan of crows and the like. I called all birds 'caw-caws' because I could hear the crows in my garden XD
