yea it does look kinda strange up front. what i had in mind was that her hair was casting a shadow, but it ended up looking funky. i'll probably fix it later on. thanks of the comment!

Definitely like where you're going with the variation in line weight! As far as how you've utilized it to emphasize shadows - it seems a little inconsistent on that front (i.e., the light source has moved around, etc.). Nevertheless, the variation in line weight does add depth and interest. I's say - keep it up! Line weight just happens to be my favorite element in drawing.
