I know this may sound a little odd, but have you considered a craft fair? You might be able to find some takers there. And there's always the possibility of a portfolio for the leftover pictures.
I don't think a few of your favorite paintings on the wall will be like bragging. Bragging would be if you practically rubbed it in people's faces and emphasized how good of an artist you are (with a "more important than thou" attitude).

Yep! I'm sure you can do it; once you tell yourself that, you just need to keep drawing. And I'm reminded of what Samuel L. Jackson said in an interview: he said he enjoys watching his performances because if he doesn't like it, then why should he expect people to pay money to see his acting? I guess the same can be said about artwork. We shouldn't get swelled heads, but if we don't like what we're drawing (painting, etc.), can we expect others to like it? Well, that doesn't mean we won't have pieces that we don't like but others do, but still...
