Or I end up spending a ridiculously long time brainstorming so it's ~*~just right~*~ for the person haha.

I'm so good at procrastinating though. If there was a Procrastination Olympics, I'd place. All the time. Ahaha
Haha. Once I start drawing something, I try to finish it quickly, but if I have to draw something for someone for an art trade or something, it usually takes me a while to actually start it..
I think artists are just prone to procrastination. xD
Ahahah and because I have a habit of leaving it alone for a couple days (or months) and then coming back to it.
But the background really took forever on this.

I really want to time myself. Like to force myself to sit down and just work. But I always get distracted haha

Wow, I can see why it takes you a long time. :o My pictures probably take only 1-2 hours to color BECAUSE I'M TOO LAZY TO TAKE MORE TIME THAN THAT. Hahahaha. I should definitely try using this technique, though. Everything looks very soft. c:

Haha I'll tell you how my blending technique goes.
I just create a gradient with each shade, going from dark to light (with the light part closer to the light source) and I do that for every shade. And then when I'm done, I just colour over everything with the base colour to really blend it in.

I'm glad this took forever because it looks so great~! :D Not only did you draw the character really well, but you also made that beautiful scenery! I think the addition of the backgrounds in your pictures really makes them stand out. This one with the beautiful sunset is especially nice. c: I also love your blending technique, which I see in her hair and skin. It looks fantastic! I should have commented on this ages ago! :'D
