GIMP is a good program to use. :) The lines aren't as clean as Paint tool SAI, but it has a LOT more tools. Plus, it's free. :D You can download it off their website.
Because there's so many tools, you'll probably have to look over a couple of tutorials to know what they all do. You can find some tutorials by searching "gimp tutorial" on DeviantArt. :) If I find any good ones, I'll send them to you.

It looks great so far! :) I really like how you did the hair, it flows really well. And this is really random, but I also like his nose. xDD I can't wait to see it colored~
