You should try it! Fondant and gum paste are both really fun to work with! Fondant is almost like edible play-dough and gum paste is similar but stretchier like silly putty. It's so fun!

I haven't taken any formal classes, but I did have a lot of people show me how to do different techniques. Plus, I learned a lot from watching videos on YouTube! Just lots of practice, and I learn more every cake I make.
