I sew and I buy clothes. It's only been recently that I have been making lolita though, I mostly made costumes. The only pointers I can offer since I am no professional are:

    • Take sewing lessons, they help alot
    • Avoid buying that $2.99 Symphony Broad cloth at Joann's Fabric store
    • Stick to crochet lace trims, not raschel lace
    • Invest in some Gothic Lolita Bibles with sewing patterns (these can be bought at nearly any book store that sells manga)
    • If you buy ribbon, try not to buy the satin (they fray alot and need to be checked at the cut ends)

Once you get good enough, drafting your own patterns becomes quite easy. Good luck!

She still looks as adorable as ever!

*sighs* I admire your designs in Lolita dresses so much! How do you get them to work so well?

Can I ask; do you make your own dresses? Like, I know you're a Lolita, so I was wondering whether you made your own outfits, or if you bought them? I'm going to get into making my own soon, when I can get a proper sewing machine, and it'd be great if you could give me some pointers? ><
