I have never heard of colored Nupastel but it sounds interesting. Whatever medium you use, the most important thing is that you enjoy your art, then you will want to do it more and improve on it.

I think tracing saves time as you can trace the same picture a few times and colour it in a different ways to practice your colours. It is good and bad depends on how you look at it. I don't feel negatively about tracing as it's also a helpful skill.

I'm not close to my parents from young. I actually like my grandparents more even though I have spent very little time with them. I love my little brother the most and in one of my entries I've posted his painting. He's more interested in playing computer games :)

Now I know there are at least some people that like my art. Thanks for all your comments. They are very encouraging to me. I hope to post more art soon :)

Great that your grandmother used to be a painter. My grandmother owned some stationery business. When she was alive she told me art is no good, can not earn money, can only treat as hobby. Partly because of her influence I stopped doing art for a long time. Also too busy with studies and work.

I only went to art class from outside for a few months when I was eleven and those few months was the only time I really felt my skills improved the fastest and really fell in love with drawings/ paintings.

But due to studies and work, I have no money or time to pursue it and also know can't make a career out of it. I have never been to art school or workshop before. I 100% self-teach myself.

I'm not close to my relatives. Haven't seen any of them for over 10 years. All my aunts and uncles are married with families, seldom in touch. None of them is an artist of any sort.
