I don't if it's the same, but there's also the ballet "The Firebird" by Igor Stravinsky, which takes some elements from the folktale and has some seriously awesome music.

This is a beautiful picture. Oh, I wish I knew the title of the book this reminds me of! I read it a few years ago, and I think it was called The Firebird, but I don't know who the author is. It's a more mature book than the ones that keep showing up when I search for it online, but anyway...
This is great. I love the bird's texture and the balance of red and green. It's so pretty!

Yes, the book I read is based off that play, along with a few other Russian fairy tales. I just can't for the life of me find my book!

I have an odd fascination with phoenixes so I'm really glad you did this. I love the tail feathers; they looks so soft.
