I don't know about that surpassing thing :D but I'll try to improve my skills.. I was just drawing today and I'll put it up here sometime, maybe you could tell me what you think about it..

You could! the key(sounds silly) is practice......my head start is that I've been drawing ever since I can remember! but hey, new artists surpass old ones, you mights as well as beat me at this subject I trust you, you can do it!
