I have done this too. I love to draw eyes. They are the window to each character's soul. So in my eyes I think this a vary important habit.
I really like the eyes you did here. Each one has a glimmer of life in them! great job!

I doodle eyes everywhere. Look through any of my school books and you'll see single eyes lining the margins.
