*feels bad for not discovering this sooner* This is wonderful! I love all of it, the positioning of the characters looks very well thought out and really attracts attention, which makes me interested in this book. All of the effects look very nice and clean, especially for a background made with no references! Much better than the crap I can do LOL. Keep up the great work!
The glowing isn't that bad. Maybe you can have it have a bit more of a fade in from black to white. (How to explain this? Um…) Maybe you could set the occupancy to a lower level and just brush layer after layer closer to the body? The thing is at least you're trying!
Don't worry, I mess up with porportions quite often. Just the other day, I tried drawing several characters of the same size and I made the head way too small for the other three and they were freakishly tall. T_T

Okay, I have to say this is amazing. I love the coloring and the shading is pretty good. The only constructive critism I can give it that the neck on the black haired girl is a little too long. Also, just to ask, the woman in the back with the gray-ish hair, were you trying to make her glow or distinct her from the black background?

Overall I really like this picture, the girl in the middle really draws me in. I did notice that your two downward facing...faces, they kinda have fish lips a little bit. Maybe something to work on? I really loved the water and vines on the gazebo, with the sunlight and the main girl...she has such a detirmened gaze.
