It depends..this particular piece was just in pencil because it was dark enough but I usually ink mine^^

my problem has been that when I scan the art in, the paper turns all different shades of grey, so if I try to colour one big area, only a few pixels here and there get coloured... do just scan your art in pencil, or do you ink it first? I've been inking it, but maybe that's what's wrong... Sorry about all the questions, I'm new to all this Thanks, that does help!

And I had that problem with a lot of my pictures too...did it only color in grayscale?

i figured out that my problem was how the pic was scanned in^^ it was scanning in as a black&white pic and then only colored grayscale but then i scribbled in markers around the edges so it wud scan as a color pic.

then on GIMP I paint over the scribbles with white^^

did that help? and if u need a tutorial, I have a friend who has amazing tutorials on youtube^^

It's really nice! I have GIMP, but I have trouble getting my pictures on it to colour... how do you do it? Do you have a tablet? (I need to get one of those...)
