This picture is the shizz man, totally awesome. Like, the coloring skills are mad and it looks like you could make a whole story book with this artwork. I say go for it
I never really seen anything like you mentioned before, except this one artists at Deviantart who had a character that "thought" she was Little Red Riding Hood, I think. Heh but really I barely search or go there anyway so I'm glad I didn't caught anything so silly like you mentioned. :P
I've yet again have to say of how much I love your little drawings with the textures, it's so unique and so adorably cute! Whenever I see your name and fanart on my background I get so excited XD
This took me back to my child years, how I missed those days! I everything from it, especially the how she only has tooth and the grandmother puppet in the wolf's tail and how the wolf has this mischievous smile, so cute!
You should consider of becoming a child's book illustrator, you will delight the kids with your drawings! <3

As for the picture, the textures are really what makes the picture. It gives it an artsy-craftsy/collage-ish feel. You've done it again, Taylor! ;)
