well i can saftely say you have a nice plot going on behind this LOL DB
and even if you didnt cellshade the scythe, the gradient kind of adds a bit of dramaticness to the whole thing (Abel's scythe from Trinity Blood kinda did the same thing BD) A happy accident lawl.
and the cross looks fine BD the simplicity of it kind of keeps your eyes on the people and moves them accross the shot ... though I should get into reading the comic DB *intrested*
