yeh... it's weird.. a ruler is made to be used.. i know.. he was such a huge influence to my art.. and so one day i found myself not needing rulers since then.. (though i didnt really need rulers to straighten something.. coz most of my works dont have lines.. lol..) he once said that "our hands are enough to make the lines straight.. practice.. coz when the time comes, u might have to draw in front of ur fan without a ruler, u wouldnt want to use one either." something like that.. and i understood what he meant... ^^;
my portfolio is a mess.. it's mixed with black and white, linearts and colored works.. if u said it's out of place.. then everything in my portfolio is.. XD

really..? code geass..... i've done one fanart for that series but i dont think it resembles that much... XD i say sailor moon style.. but i know i've evolved somehow.. *evolved from sailor moon style to other anime style*

i'd prefer to see this on pencils like the others said. ur shading skills are excellent and it brings the picture to life even though it is "just" pencil shaded. although, it will be interesting to see it colored because of the background. but i'd still go with pencil shade. ^^

Okay first of all.. A ruler is nothing more than a tool. Professionals use rulers ALL the time. Whoever told you that is a true amateur and ne- oh let me just keep quiet. A ruler is a tool for making things better. If I had to use one, I'd use one. ::*rolls eyes*::
Secondly, I am a Cloud-lover also. ^^; I often find myself admiring the shapes and ambiguousness of the clouds as the drift aimlessly in the sky. The night is especially intriguing as well. :]
Haha, "noodles". I see what you mean. I kinda like it black and white like you've done so far.. But seeing your portfolio, with this in it, it kinda looks out of place. I think you should go on and color it. ^^d

Cool linearts! It's okay to leave it uncolored but colored works are more attractive so I suggest you color it to give an impact. Goodluck!
