yep watermelon is suika in japanese, in fact in Japan they even have a special festival where you smash watermelons. It's kinda funny because when i was in Japan the festival was being held at the Tokyo Tower.I video taped it too it was so cute little kids would try to smash watermelons.srry long comment.
