I love the rain too! but I have friends who will actually stay home if it's raining. they look out the window like cats who've just been asked to jump in the pool. it's ridiculous. my best friend and me went shopping together and we were bringing in groceries at her place in the pouring rain, and I asked her son to come and help us, and he looked at me as if I'd lost my mind and said, "It's raining," in a really insulted tone of voice, as if I had some nerve to even think of asking him to come out in it and help. so he let us girls go out in the driving rain and bring the stuff in by ourselves. but he couldn't be bothered. if he had been the one who went shopping, I wonder if he would've just left the food in the car overnight and hoped it wouldn't go bad. it didn't start raining till after we got back. or maybe he would've just slept at the store that night, and avoided going out in the rain at all. *sigh* ppl are free to not like the rain, but it's those who can't function in it that I worry about.
I haven't written any stories on here yet. I saw your comment in my World, (first!) but the site ate my reply. I'll go back in there and try again when I get some time... the comments have been kinda glitchy lately.

lol!! yeah, I do a much better job painting pictures with words too. I actually feel like I can put more detail into a word picture, because I can describe precisely what's going on and add nuances that I certainly don't have the skill (at this point) to capture in art, and that ppl might miss anyway even if I did. you can't look at a picture and know exactly what the character in it is thinking, especially if it's something that's not obvious. I love those parts in my stories where I can write an extensive interior monologue that reveals the character's innermost thoughts and their emotional landscape. it's fun to choose at what point in the story to put those in. rain is good for if they're depressed, wind for if they're going through some sort of change in their lives (sweeping and scouring away the old), or some event might trigger a torrent of memories... etc. etc. so many exciting opportunities...

hey! do you know today's the first day of winter? I'm so excited! I love cold weather! of course, it's been feeling like winter here for weeks, so I've been pretty happy with it.

it's not the same... in a way, it's better because everybody adds new things to your work with their own imaginations. I can't draw either, but I write, so I know exactly what you mean. actually, I shouldn't say I can't draw. I simply haven't disciplined myself to learn. need to work on that...
