Probably a bigger pencil with heavier and bigger tip would do well to smudge with? It looks good but I am very sure if you darken the background and shade the person, it'll gives off more atmosphere. ^^ By the way, the guy looks cool and the name _____ doesn't really suit him. XD hehe... (jk)
Hmm well I think if there was more black in the background it would look cool without him being colored, but it just looks so plain like this. Maybe that's what you were going for though lol. I like his coat, it's toasty

You maen the shadowing? Yeah, the type of pencil that looked shadowy didnt really smudge well finger-wise, so It was difficult to fill it up.
