Well I figured if it's an emo theme, it'd have to be dark colors, right? =D
I had my mind set for black ribbons really. Well, at first it was just going to be white with small stains of blood or something, but I thought it would be too much red with the curtains and couch. So black seemed to have worked well. ^^
Yeah, it's kinda funny to see how much more detail there is than the lineart, huh? =/ Kinda funny how CG works just make things look so different. XD

WHOA! This looks extremely awesome!!! XDD The dark colors works so well with this! I had originally thought you were going to use red ribbons, but I think black does goes along with it better. ^^ There's also little details I haven't noticed before on the lineart, but now it's more defined it looks even more incredible! <3 Keep it up!

Oh, to make the room look a little dark and dim, you could try by making a new layer for the darkness of the room. The layer should be ABOVE ALL others at the TOP.
Take the Paint Bucket tool and change the Opacity of it. The lower the % of the opacity, the less color density there is. =)
You can find the opacity in the layers menu or at the top with the tool/task bars.
