It took me ages to work out how to pronounce 'manga' too! And until about two or three years ago, I thought Fruits Basket's Kyo was pronounced 'Kai-oh' >///<

It's "Mahnga" or monga I guess. But definitely not the way your were pronouncing it. The Japanese "a" is pronounced differently than the American "a". It sounds like the "a" in "palm" or "walk", not the "a" in "apple" or "cat". And Chibi is "cheebee." The Japanese "i" is pronounced as an "ee" sound. =]

As for your questions, what (most) others said is right. I'd say "monga" is pretty close-- and yes, chibi sounds like "chee-bee".
