I really like it Ryuu, your idea is very creative!
What i think you could have done to make this a little better would be instead of making the suit blue and the ban black- make everything black and make blue shadows on him like an inverted shadow.
I don't really understand why you're .... talking about shoes in the commentary description either O.o
For the background.. i honestly think this took away from your picture. lines especially hatching or patters don't make a good background in pictures. It's just a quick easy thing but what i think would have been more real is if you did a Broadway stage or a blues cafe backdrop. that would have brought meaning to your title really.
good job though i do like your ideas that you have ryuu!^-^
