Your absolutely right, I've never submitted art myself (dont ask) But I look at lovely art some people submit and in the comments theres usually one that goes: "omg tis pcyy suckes!" I just want to tell them to shut up >:( But this picture is very pretty ^_^ I love the way you drew her shirt, kinda bouncy ^^ Keep it up, and dont let haters get you down. *waves*
We've all experienced, or seen flaming at one time or another, and while some of the the points they make may be technically accurate, there IS a right, and a wrong way to go about it. Flamers choose do do it the wrong way plain and simple.
Even if a piece of art needs to be improved, being rude about it isn't the right way to tell someone. Not agreeing with the subject matter is okay, but being rude about that disagreement is not okay either.
The best way to fight flamers is to ignore them, cause they go away when no one takes their bait ands starts to argue with them. I've seen that from experience here and across the net.
Constructive criticism is not hard to learn how to do, and it gets people a lot further as both artists and evaluators of others' artworks.
And I have to agree with your closing statement there, enjoy doing your art.
On the picture itself, it's nicely done all around. The lines and coloring are both well put together.
i never get flames so i wouldn't know, i don't believe in flaming others but i do believe that comments shouldn't always be omg i luv this!! i believe more people should critique art so people know what there doing wrong and get better. if the people on this site think flaming is bad most should go to art school were the teachers will REALLY cut your art work up, now that will make most people want to stop drawing i bet
Flamers aren't cool but sometimes, they tell the truth.
In my opinion, the coloring in this is very lazy and overly dodged and airbrushed. The girl's face is so stylized that her facial anatomy is very off.
I like her pose though. Cute concept
