im sorry, but an angel is technically a living thing. Also even though it is purity, faith, magic, etc personified, its used very often.

to personify is to bring to life something that is not living. ex sentence:the wind played with her hair. The wind is not a living thing, but it is portrayed as something playing thus personifying wind. to draw a personification, you can just simply draw a person representing a nonliving object. ex of this, to personify fire you can draw a person wearing warm colors, possibly a flame or two, or just simply make fire form a person itself.
