Well they refer to as hair and a mane in the Episode 1 of MLP: FiM. Twilight Sparkle: Oh, you mean my mane? Well, it's a long story. I'm just here to check on the decorations and then I'll be out of your hair. Rarity: Out of my hair? What about your hair? (So it could be mane as well.)
