Wattpad to me is better than the fan fiction site. It's much easier to read the stories there. And yeah it is kinda like DeviantArt when you put it that way.
What's Wattpad like? I've never used it so I'm not sure how it works. I guess, is it kind of like a deviantArt but for writers? Or Fanfiction but for original stories?
I think getting other writers to read things on topics that they don't write on can be hard, no matter how good the writing is. I know at least I really connected with A Safe Place because someone is finally writing a story that's not about "the chosen" fairy who farts rose petals and giggles or the hot sexy muscular demon or teenagers moping because their parents died and now they're trying to understand their hidden powers... those have been done to death and unfortunately that seems to be what a whole lot of people write about! I love the dark edge to A Safe Place, it's just right because there's a foreboding feeling but nobody comes off as whiny teens!
The thing is, it's only you who reads it. I love that you're reading it, don't get me wrong, but not even people on Wattpad are reading this! But, if you really want me to continue, fine. I will.
Please don't give up! I really love this story, especially since you're beginning to explore the characters more in-depth. I'm always quick to read whenever you post a new chapter! I've always loved this story because the idea and characters are just so unique compared to what most other people write — the characters are relatable, and that's what makes it good. You always handle your ideas in ways that don't come out as cheesy or overused.
Ultimately, the decision is yours to make, but I urge you to keep trying even if you're struggling with writing for days or weeks or months, because you have something really good in the works and I'd hate to not be able to read it anymore!
