Ah, really? xD I guess our school system is just very thorough...
Oh yeah, there are a lot of classes. :D Spanish is the most popular language, though. xD
Hm... Well, I started learning for fun, but I'm not opposed to being a translator if I can't find a different job. :)
O.O Sounds more like college classes then high school. But that can be a good thing. You'll definately be more prepared for college if your school system is that strict. And it sounds like you have alot more variety of classes to choose from. It's amazing that you have an AP Japanese class (I don't think we even had a year 4 Spanish class avaliable XD)
Are you studying Japanese for fun, or do you plan on becoming a translator or something? :D
Sounds like you have a really good class/teacher. My class was really layed back, I don't think we learned as much as you did. I think we only learned 20 Kanji charcaters that year...we kinda gave up on it XD
Don't get me wrong, my Japanese teacher was amazing, one of the best teachers I've ever had, but I think he just got fed up with everything. Before he retired, the school had him teaching English to freshman, which limited greatly the number of Japanese classes avaliable. They keep cutting back teachers, and stuff. My sister's senior year they didn't even have enough books for all of the kids. Our school system sucks -___-'
I think we've learned more than 50, but I'm not sure. I'd have to count them... xD We started learning 2nd year, but last year was when we started getting more packets/etc. xD; Year 5 (AP Japanese) learns the most kanji, though.
Ah, yeah... I was a bit lazy learning katakana. I've got it down now, though. (I think. xD) There's a lot of kids in my class who don't know all the katakana, though. I'm kind of the dictionary/reference book of the class... ;u; The people around me always ask what the teacher's saying because she speaks in more Japanese than our last year teacher... xD;
Are you you learning alot of Kanji in your 4th year? We had just started to learn a bit of it in my 3rd year. We had to make our own flash cards, and since my teacher knew I could draw (do to my habit of drawing in class), he had me making the flash cards for the more challenging looking charcaters XD
I've forgotten most of the Kanji we learned that year....and I was never too good with katakana XD Never took the time to memorize it.
Aw, that's too bad! D: I've had 3 different Japanese teachers at school so far. xDD The teachers keep leaving for different schools...
Chinese seems like a really interesting course, but reeeeally difficult. xD It's like.. all kanji... ;u;
O.O I wish we had a fourth year. Our Japanese teacher decided to retire, and Japanese got replaced by Chinese (which would have been fun to start learning too, but they wouldn't let me in the class >.<)
Thank you so much for all your help! I really have no idea what I'm doing XD I took 3 years of japanese in high school but I pretty much only know the really basic stuff, so any help I can get is fantastic. I hope you'll continue to check this world and help me out :D
question, would you like to be a guest poster on this world?...You don't have to if you don't want to/don't have time, but it would be great if you'd be willing to share any Japanese you know; you could post about anything you wanted: words, grammer, Japanese traditions, Kanji...anything. You wouldn't have to post everyday, unless you wanted to :D
Another note: Dore and dochira are essentially the same thing; but dochira is only used as "which" between two objects, while "dore" is for 3 or more objects. :D
Thanks for posting these, by the way! I like reading them. c:

I think my county just has a really strict/organized school system. xD; They have a lot of standards/etc for how much each class/subject has to learn.
Oh wow, that's rough. D: I can see how he'd get very frustrated with that. I hope your old school gets things under control... ;u;

You're welcome! :) I'm on my 4th year now, and I want to continue in college, too.
Oh, yeah I'd like to! :D That sounds like fun. I'll try to post things fairly frequently, but probably not every day. :>
