Chapter 12: Searching

Chero stopped outside of the bathroom when she heard someone talking.

“Yes…She’s alright…for now. I can’t change that. Protection levels are high. No. Well…As soon as it is all over I will be there. No. No. Leave her out of this. There is enough blood on my hands…Tch. Don’t do anything stupid. I’ll check in later.”

Chero opened the restroom to see Dante hanging up his phone.

“Eavesdropping? I didn’t take you to be the type, Chero,” Dante said.

“Eavesdropping? On what? I didn’t hear anything…” she lied.

“Whatever you heard does not concern you…” Dante said.

“Are you hiding something, Dante?” Chero asked.

“You did too, remember? You never told us anything…” Dante said.

“Just…don’t forget Danni, ok?”

Dante looked taken aback for a second, but composed himself.

“You look pale. Wash your face…” Dante said, walking past her out the door.

Chero looked after Dante, confused and concerned. She sighed and walked over to wash her face.

Morning came quickly and a meeting was called after breakfast.

“Well…Now that we have contact with the outside someone will have to stay here in
case anyone tries to get a hold of us…” Hime said.

“It seems as if the monster also goes outside…So our friends outside are in for a tough fight…Luna told me that everyone has split into pairs or small groups to fight. The whole Host Club is here…” Dino said.

“What should we do?” Danni asked.

“I want to look for the rest of the metal pieces. I know one is hidden on the second floor. So, let’s go there and then check the fourth floor…” Chero said.

“Oh! I remember that one! We hid it together, right? I saw it when we broke one of the clocks,” Jenny said.

“What the heck, Jenny! If you knew…why didn’t you tell us yesterday?” Kiki asked.

“It would have been too dangerous to do it yesterday…and I won’t say to whom…” Jenny sighed.

“You mean…one of us was going to die?” Francis asked, “In that case…who can go get the metal piece?”

“I’ll go!” Leon volunteered, “If you tell me where it is, I can go alone.”

“I’ll go too. What are the chances that Thing will appear anyways?” Tsukino said.

Chero chewed her lower lip and looked at the floor, “…one hundred….percent…”

Tsukino smirked, “Bring it on. Never underestimate a black op.”

Chero clung to her sister’s arm, “I’m coming with you. If possible…we should go
in as few numbers as possible…”

Dino looked at Chero, worry in his eyes, “Do you mind if one more goes?”

He shook his head and nodded determinedly, “I’m going with you! It’s not far from here. I can run back for reinforcements if we need them.”

“So, five people would be too much,” Dante said, “Alright. Go get ready to leave soon. Danni? Would you mind staying here and contacting the outside?”

Danni pouted and flailed, “But I want to go with you!”

“We’ll stay and help you, right Twinnie?” Kiki said to Mocha.

“The place it’s hidden is the room opposite of the fireplace room. It’s well
hidden under the carpet,” Jenny said.

“Got it! We’ll we’re off!” Chero cheered.

Chero bent over and picked up the metal piece from under the carpet.

“I…hid it there…I don’t remember at all…” She said.

“Oh. Chero? Where’s the monster going to come from?” Tsukino asked.

“Oh!....Er…”

The grey alien like monster fell from the sky and landed in front of them. It was huge and almost gorilla like.

“From the sky apparently~” Leon joked, “It’s raining monsters! ALLELUIA it’s raining monsters!”

Tsukino whacked Leonides upside the head, “Shut it and get ready to fight!”

“Dino!” Chero called.

He nodded and flicked his wrist sending his whip around the legs of the beast to trip it. As the monster started to fall, Chero muttered a spell under her breath and sent a large fire ball at the monster. The monster took the full brunt of
Chero’s attack, but seemed unharmed.

Dino cursed under his breath.

Leonides sent a burst of ice needles at the monster. Tsukino attacked from the other side in perfect timing with her sword.

“Chero! At the same time, ok?” Leon asked.

Chero nodded and channeled her mana into one large attack.

“Incendio!” the both cried, sending a large burst of flames at the monster.

Dino narrowed his eyes at the great teamwork that Leonides and Chero had….he could never admit it…But he was sort of jelous.

The monster flailed out as it burned. It started to fade, but not before it go one more hit in. It struck Dino, sending him back. Chero ran over to Dino and started to check out his wounds.

“Dino?! Are you ok?” she cried.

“I’m fine. I just got a little burned…” he chuckled.

Chero took a look at the burns and started to heal them.

“Grazie, amore…” he said.

“I thought the monster was going to come from the door, not from above!” Leon complained.

“Gomen ne…He’ll drop from above at time…” Chero said.

“Now it’s too late, baka! You should have said that before it showed up!” Tsukino lectured.

“Sorry…”

“Anyways. Let’s go up to the fourth floor quickly,” Tsukino said, walking to the door.

“I said I was sorry! Oh! Nee-chaaan! Don’t go ahead on your own! It’s too dangerous!” Chero whined grabbing onto her sister’s arm.

“Yeah Tsuuuukii-chan~” Leon teased, “You would want to make my cute apprentice cry again, would you?”

Leon picked Chero up into a hug.

“MASTER LEONIDES. PUT ME DOWN!” Chero cried, flailing.

Tsukino whacked Leon with her sheathed sword. Leon grabbed his head, letting
Chero go in the process. She slipped away and ran to Dino’s arms.

“Waaah! Diiiinnoooo! Master Leon violated me! Fix it!” Chero pouted.

Dino chuckled and hugged Chero, “Better?”

Chero shook her head and pouted. Dino leaned in and gave Chero a kiss. Chero’s
cheeks turned pink.

“How about that, amore?” he asked.

Chero nodded, “Much better~ Grazie!”

Dino shook his head, grinning. He took Chero’s hand and followed after Tsukino and Leon who started to leave for the fourth floor.
