Hello cosplayers and cosplay admirers alike. :)
So I'm about to begin on my very first cosplay adventure! Otakon is in about 8 months and I refuse to go a third year without dressing up >:I I thought I should start with something a little simple... but as my brainstorming went along I ended up choosing something slightly easy... and made parts of it hard on myself.
Allow me to explain. But first. Who am I cosplaying??? Well....
(((forgive quick sketch + crappy scanner)))

Link from the Legend of Zelda? Sure, why not? (I'm going to say I'm from OoT, just because it's my favorite game :) )
The outfit itself seems pretty basic. All I really need to actually make is the hat. The shirt might me a little difficult, green v-neck that is long and has medium length sleeves, only because it has to be so exact. But there are ways of getting around that. 1) Alter an existing shirt or 2) Just make a shirt/skirt combo.
Still haven't decided what the sword and sheild will be made of. :/
I do ask for assistance on one thing, however. Does anyone know the most effective way to make pointed ears? If I'm going to do this right, I gotta look Hyrulean, you know?
No, the trickiest thing to this outfit that I'm really just challenging myself to attempt is make an ocarina that actually works! I think that would be pretty amazing... especially if I learn how to play the theme song :o Duuude! So excited, hope it works. (Oh! I want to learn Song of Storms! Favorite Zelda song EVER!)
Being that this is my first cosplay outfit I expect a million things to go wrong, but I hope in the end that it will look decent enough to show off in public :)
Oh! Plans of making Jessie cosplay as Impa (the only person who's hair is close to hers), let you know if that plan falls through or not. :P

Hey, Excel here, reporting for duty!
I've finished my female Ranma cosplay!! I actually finished it tonight! Well, except for her wrist bands, but those are optional (one would assume). So, I took pictures!

The shirt was made by my boyfriend Daku's neighbor, who is an AMAZING seamstress! The pants were bought at Wal-Mart. I actually had to buy an XL from the Boys' section, as the Women's section didn't sell any sweat pants with the elastic around the ankles. I've had the shoes for quite a few years, so I don't remember where I bought them. The belt is just a simple strip of black fabric. All I had to do for her hair was braid my own, which I do on a daily basis anyways. I'm going to go ahead and make the wrist bands, but I need to buy a set of snaps, so I have to wait. I don't have contacts YET, but I'll be getting them before A2F V.
Well, stay classy, Otakuites!
Excel~
so...this is mah new cosplay. i still need to make the necklace and do the hair. other than that this is a preatty "finished" cosplay. i basically made the pattern myself and sewed it all too. the hood is lined so thats why its black on the inside and red on the outside. the first issue i ran into with this cosplay was: THERE WERE NO COLOR PICTURES OF THIS CHARATCTER! so i had to pick colors for the outfit that i thought fit. also, please don't look up this manga, unless you are looking for a lolicon[read porn] with excessive gore....and sex etc.
why am i cosplaying as someone from a lolicon?
a) because i want to see how many people recognize me
b)because i like the costume...
c) why not?
anyways. this hood makes me so proud...it came out REALLY WELL. i've been wearing it practically nonstop since last night when i made it....
so. comments, questions, critiques: comment box is your friend.

This post has been a long time overdue. To start this world off here are some pictures of our very own James and his group of Shinsengumi. When I saw these guys wandering the halls and going up the esculators at Sakura Con 2008, all I can say is I am impressed. There's also a lot of them! @_@
So what is a cosplay without the pictures, ne? (The guy with the reddish black hair is Someguy)

Greetings everyone! With the deletion of the cosplay section on TheOtaku, I decided to create a safe haven for us all. If you like to cosplay, want to get into cosplay and unsure exactly how, or bored and want to look at cosplay pictures, this is the place for you. If you are interested in contributing to this world, feel free to comment or leave me a private message. I hope that this world will be a useful tool and enjoyable for us all.
